Hand me the avocados, let’s make some guacamole! My husband was never a fan of avocados, let alone guacamole! Now, he’s hooked on both!

I love avocado! I could eat half of one every day. From smearing them on toast with some eggs, a salad topper, or even guacamole, I can’t get enough! It’s one of my favourite healthy fats!

AVOCADOS

Healthy fat that is dreamy and tasty.

Avocados are very rich in vitamins and a great source of monounsaturated fat. You can do so many things with them, and they’re super tasty… especially plain with some sea salt and black pepper! YUM!

I always have to shop around for the perfect one. Some are hard as rocks and take forever to “ripen”. No matter what hack I try {I once read place them near some ripe bananas to help ripen them}, I can’t seem to find one that works.

GUACAMOLE INGREDIENTS

Easy, simple, and healthy ingredients.

You don’t need very much ingredient-wise. Just some basics, that you likely already got on hand. One of the key ingredients here is Sea Salt. And you’ll need some plain Greek yogurt.

This recipe doesn’t take long to prepare at all. With a little lemon juice, it still tastes great leftover the next day! Not only is this dip great with nachos, but also with tacos. Yes, I put guac on my tacos, and I even spread it on some pita bread for a quick snack.

In my “Healthy Balance” recipe book, I shared my mom’s famous guacamole dip, it is a huge HIT and delicious. It just requires more prep time.

Ingredients

  • 2 avocados, seed removed, scooped and mashed
  • 2-3 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp dried cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp of dried chives
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp finely chopped jalapeño (optional)
  • Sea salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, all in all ingredients, mash together until everything is well combined.
