The Easiest And Tastiest Homemade Meatballs

Another quick and easy recipe for busy moms to get a delicious and savoury meal on the table; homemade meatballs that are tasty, a family favourite and loved by all.

If you’ve read through my other recipes on here, you’d see that I am all about time-saving hacks, easy and quick meals that can be made in a dash because #momlife is a busy life.

When I attempted to put this meatball recipe together, I was dealing with a teething baby who didn’t wanna be out of her mama’s arms {I’ll take all the cuddles any day}. Naptime for me is when I work and when I focus on getting my workout in and it is also the time I get in the kitchen and get busy.

When it came time to make dinner I knew that I needed to get these meatballs made FAST because I didn’t have much time.

This meatball recipe goes a long way. From adding to spaghetti sauce, to tossing in some honey garlic, teriyaki or sweet and sour sauce and serving over rice… the options are endless. My thoughts as always when it comes to meals, and food in general… “get creative with your food”.

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE MEATBALLS

Simple ingredients; full of flavour; quick on time; how to keep meatballs together.

  • First things first, do not overmix your ingredients. You just want to mix everything together until combined. If you overmix your ingredients they can cause your meatballs to dry out.
  • Keep the ingredients simple. Make sure you use egg and breadcrumbs of some sort to help “bind” {hold} the meatballs together. If you don’t use a “binder” this can cause your meatballs to fall apart.
  • The size of your meatballs will determine how long they will take to cook. Typically golf ball-sized meatballs can be cooked in 20 minutes or less.
  • Spices and seasoning are key. Get creative, use ingredients you enjoy and that your family enjoys. Ingredients for this recipe can easily be substituted for others to satisfy your own tastebuds. Some other spices and seasonings to consider: chives, Italian seasoning, cayenne, etc.

HOW TO COOK HOMEMADE MEATBALLS

Quick cooking time; easy to clean up.

You want to make sure that you are cooking these meatballs on high heat. This will not only make your meatballs cook a little faster but also brown nicely. An oven temperature of 425 Fahrenheit is what is used for this recipe, and bake for 16-20 minutes.

I also like to line a baking sheet with tin foil, shiny side up {hold that heat}. Using the tinfoil helps hold the mess from the meatballs without ruining your baking sheet. This also makes for easy cleanup.

HOW TO FREEZE MEATBALLS

Freezing meatballs for meal prep made easy.

You can freeze meatballs once they are cooked. This great because it means you can double this recipe and make a larger batch for meal prep. Once they’ve cooled, I like to freeze them in a freezer Ziplock bag and just take out what I need as needed. All you have to do this thaw them out and add to whatever dish you desire.

What are some ways you like to enjoy meatballs?
